t has been a special spring this year. At first, the weather remained very cold and the waters didn't warm up very much. Then the weather changed to summer and heat and the waters warmed up quickly.
The season started as usual with the spinning of the whitefish, and whitefish were caught quite comfortably. Even at this point, however, filamentous algae, which is rampant in the archipelago, became a problem. This algae covers the bottom, and when fishing for a whitefish, the hook and bait easily get buried in the algae cover and the catch remains non-existent or shines with its total absence. Fortunately, it was also nice to find places where this problem did not exist. If you have never been whitefish fishing, I recommend contacting you. The fishing guide will take you to good places and guide you to this easy and relaxed sport. The nicest spring fishing trip in the archipelago!
Trout fishing in spring is inherently very challenging. The conditions have to be just right to find the spring trout. This spring, trout fishing was quite low also due to the conditions, but of course other fishing also took a part of the time available for fishing. The first trips were made clearly too enthusiastically, when the waters were still really cold. Then filamentous algae became a challenge here in the nearby waters. The filamentous algae sticks to the lure in no time, and besides, those fish don't enjoy themselves there either. In addition, the sea water, which has been really low for a record long time, has also had its own challenge, which in part only strengthens this threadbare problem. Despite this spill - take a fishing guide with you and take a trip to the wonderful archipelago to fish for trout!
The most popular target fish of the spring by the fishing guide has been pike. From time to time there have been challenges in terms of low sea water and the sun shining from a cloudless sky, and the pike has been very passive. As a counterweight, of course, there have been really busy days when the pike that have boarded the boat have been counted in dozens. Nice experiences have been offered on the fishing guide front - with experienced fishermen we got to know new lures and on the other hand caught the first fish of our life. As usual, spinnerbaits and fast-swimming shad have worked best in the spring.
Perch and walleye fishing has excelled mainly due to its absence. In general, the short season of spring is not active fishing for perch or zander for me. This spring, too, the time has passed mainly with other target fish. Commercial fishermen have brought their own challenge to the local waters, who have really effectively captured good zanderspots with their nets. It's great that fresh local food goes to the shops through them, but the fishing guide is also worried about the durability of the zander population. When you net a significant part of the population swimming in Kudu, everyone can determine how the stock is developing. But yes, even in the spring you can jig and even learn the tricks of the sport with a fishing guide.
Towards midsummer!
